This has been on my TO DO LIST for a while and I thought I’d better get on it as the cool weather will be fast approaching. I wanted one specifically for the door at the end of the hall that joins the garage and backyard.
It was really very easy. I measured my door {32″ long by 5.5 ” deep} and cut my material {I used a drop cloth from Home Depot} and cut it leaving an extra 1.5 inches allowance on each side. Then I got out the sewing machine and ran two seems along both long sides and one of the ends. I turned it right side out and then added my graphic from the GRAPHICS FAIRY using Citra Solv {see how to transfer images here}.
I bought the cheapest big bag of rice I could find and started scooping it in. 
I was amazed… it took pretty much the whole bag of rice to fill it!
I closed it up by folding the ends under and hand stitching them together using a light ivory thread to match the fabric. Voila!
Pretty cool! It sure beats an old raggy towel… which is what my husband was using last winter!

What do you use to print the image? Is it just regular paper?
Yes, just print up a reverse image on your inkjet printer and then turn it over and tape it in place on top of your object. Then use a little paper towel to apply the CS, and use a spoon to burnish the back of the paper. You need to press hard.
Love it!! I used this same transfer on a coffee table and tried all the other transfer method method you did, only because I was too cheap to go buy any more supplies! Ha! Looks GREAT! Great looking, you may want to put a loop on one end to hang it on the doorhandle when not in use. My boys thought it was great to whip each other with, until I desgnated it to the knob. Not a weapon to use on your brother! Love your transfer.
Good suggestion. Right now my kids are too little to lift it, but I see your point!! I will definitely be adding a loop!!
