Well, I can’t believe 2012 is almost here! I’m at home recovering from a sore throat and nagging cough that swept through the whole family this past week, so New Years Eve has been spent thinking about some of my accomplishments this year and goals for next year!
This past year has had many highlights….
I returned to work last February following a year maternity leave, and this was followed very quickly by my son’s first birthday in March.
My daughter turned four in May and had a wonderful princess party.
She also finished her first year of preschool in June with a family picnic and kite flying day.
During the summer we took a short family vacation to Vancouver Island to visit my sister and her fiancee.
Despite a very poor start to the summer (anyone from the Vancouver area will remember the headlines “BUMMER SUMMER”), the weather picked up and I enjoyed July and August frolicking at the beach with the kids, picking berries, and swimming. This fall, we received wonderful news that my sister and her fiancee are expecting their first baby! I can’t wait to be and Aunt in 2012!
The summer also led to the start of Ugly Duckling. I found an old dresser in the alley and decided to refinish it… and somehow along the way decided to create this blog.
It’s been a huge learning curve… and I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot in the past four months… but mostly I’ve realized how much I enjoy having this kind of creative outlet. I love being inspired by all the other bloggers out there! So thank you!!
