A few years ago I started a new Boxing Day shopping tradition in our house. Well, it actually it’s on December 27th…. you see, every year Mandeville Gardens (Gardenworks) has their boxing day sale on December 27th. I discovered this about four or five years ago. They have absolutely spectacular Christmas decor and ornaments, and of course they are all 50% off on the 27th!!!!!!
I’ve started going every year with the kids and we pick out a few ornaments and other Christmas decorations and I pack them away for next year. The best part of all this is opening up my Christmas storage boxes the following year and being surprised by all the wonderful things I bought the previous year that I had forgotten about! I love it!
For the past two years now, I’ve met up with a friend and her two kids and so it’s become a fun little tradition! Of course, we also help each other spend money by drooling over all the amazing stuff!
Here’s some of what I picked up this year:
These little tea light holders look like they are made out of drift wood.
These star prints have a sepia tone to them that I like.
I couldn’t resist these little owl ornaments my friend Monika picked up.
I think we both picked up one of these owls as well. Sorry for the blurry photo! This looks like a birds nest, but it’s actually a garland that unwinds and you can wrap it around your tree, or I think it would also look wonderful intertwined with greenery up a staircase.
Finally, I bought this red ribbon which you bend and scrunch and poof around your tree (it looks lovely – should’ve taken a picture of the trees they had decorated with it)!
Now all I have to do is build another storage space to put my growing collection of Christmas stuff!!
Did you get any Boxing Day goodies?
