My daughter is a little budding artist. She loves to craft too, and enjoys helping me with my painting projects. The other day, while working on something, she said: “I love being creative!” Um… me too! Last Christmas, she got a portable art stand from her Aunt. It has two drawers, which contain paint and pastels, in addition to a flip up easel for drawing and painting. She really likes it, so when one of the hinges came out, I thought I’d give her little stand a makeover while I was repairing it.
I replaced the hinges and repaired a crack in the bottom drawer with wood glue and filler. Then painted the whole thing in teal chalk paint {homemade}.
I added a few girlie stencils and then lightly distressed it.

My daughter wasn’t too impressed at first with the distressing {I tried to explain why making her art stand look “old” was desirable – I’m not sure I was successful}, but she was won over with the stencils, nevertheless!
