I love an easy DIY, and this is about as easy as it gets! I’ve been doing without a mouse pad for some time now (I can never find ones I like), and I finally had enough! I picked up a round cork trivet at the Dollar Store and within minutes had this:
This is something you can do even if you have only 10 minutes to spare. I used one of my Martha Stewart Stencils from Michael’s and used Bella Blue chalk paint (FAT paint). I stencilled both sides, which turned out to be a good idea because I quickly discovered that the mouse sticks too much to the cork (pictured above) and the bottom surface of the trivet was sliding around on my desk…. so now I’ve turned it over and use it with the cork side down. The cork sticks nicely!
I’m still getting used to my new iMac, but I’m slowly figuring it out.
