What a beautiful weekend it’s turning out to be here in Vancouver. I’m starting to feel like things are coming together for the Farmhouse Vintage Market in two weeks – there is still a ton of stuff I want to get done, but I’m glad that many of the projects I’ve been working on over the past several weeks are FINALLY nearing completion. The one I’m sharing today was totally inspired by Laurel at the North End Loft. She has some amazing French flower pots that I just had to make. I decided to spray paint my galvanized buckets and flower vases in heirloom white.
All the graphics I chose were from the Graphics Fairy. I used spray adhesive to attach the fabric (I used some left over scraps from my Ballard Inspired Curtains) to my printer paper and ran it through the printer (tip: if you do this make sure to leave a few millimeters of paper at the top otherwise the fabric jams the printer). To attach the fabric to my buckets, I used 404 – a fabric spray adhesive that is permanent, yet allows you to remove and reposition the material many times (this stuff is amazing!) if you need to.
I made these for the market, but I’m so smitten with them, it will be hard to let them go. I have also made extras to give as teacher gifts at the end of the month and will share with you then what I plan on putting in them!Like the pinwheels? Any of you who read Miss Mustard Seed will recognize these. She has a great tutorial on how to make them. I didn’t use glitter on mine, mainly because I tried this and it took me 30 minutes to make one pinwheel with glitter, and most of this time was spent gluing on the glitter!! I think they look cute without. Mainly I wanted them as decor for my booth at the market, but it will be an added bonus if they sell!I made music sheet ones…and Dick and Jane ones… it was a little hard for me (being a teacher and all) to cut up a perfectly good book, but I got over it.
These tables will be coming to the market as well, but they’re not quite finished yet…
See the trunk above? That’s the Mysterious Trunk that appeared in my backyard one day. It’s close to being finished… just needs some glazing and a graphic or two.
